St. Paul's Lutheran Church
Troop 599
Until Troop and Pack 599 were formed, there had not been any special needs Boy Scout troops or packs in Berks county. With a growing number of boys interested in the program, some parents thought that there should be. Therefore, early in 2009, the process began and the plans started to form. Back at the beginning of July, the formal paperwork process began to charter a new boy scout troop and cub scout pack here at St. Paul's Lutheran. On September 9th, the charters for both Troop and Pack 599 were presented to the church council. As time goes on, please check the events pages for information on events. Also, if you are interested in joining or helping, please contact Chris Murray at 484-638-4906.
A Few Announcements:
- Until it gets lighter outside, use the front main door to the church. If were not around, call either Kim or I on our cell phones to come let you in.
- Also, if you owe us money for popcorn, t-shirts or pinewood kits, please get it to us, our bank acccount is running low because all this was already paid for.
Below is the Schedule for January
- Saturday January 9th, 2p-5p, we will be having a pinewood derby help-u-build open house at our house. We have done this for the past 3 years and found that it worked well for everyone wanting to build a pinewood derby car. I will have tools, saws set up to help cut basic designs out. Let the scouts design what they want and I'll give free advice on how to finish them. If they didnt get a kit yet, bring them and they will have a late Christmas gift to open. No meeting this night.
- Thursday January 14th, 7pm, parent meeting at our house. Please find the means to attend if you can, there are a few things we need to get back on course.
- Saturday January 16th, regular meeting at the church, 7-8pm-ish
- Saturday January 23rd, no meeting
- Sunday January 24th, Pack/Troop meeting with Pack 597, St. Pauls, 1312 Old Swede Rd, Douglasville, Pa 19518. Please let me know if your scout has earned an achievement/award so we can present it to him. For the Cubs, notify the Macks (Our new Cub/Assistant Cub Masters) as well
